So, what are you up to today? The rain has stopped, here, though it's cold outside, and the cats would very much like us to fix that so they can hang out on the porch in comfort. The birds are voraciously eating, so I set out extras for them, including sprinking some seed on the ground for the ground feeders like Slate-colored Juncos and Mourning Doves. We have at least a dozen Mourning Doves out there! Root*Center*Son is coming over later for dinner and to play Cribbage. And! I slept a full 7 hours last night!! This new med might be actually making a difference! We'll see.
Sleep study is tomorrow night so today I hope to finish a first draft of the short study I plan to read to (I hope) an audience at Windycon next weekend. Also, as usual, download email, look at news sites, and continue reading The Algebraist, an SF novel by Iain M. Banks.
This is a fantasy short story titled The Shadow of Blight. It features a retired wizard. And I missed the Zoom get-together of my APA correspondence group because I was so used to it being on Sunday I didn't realize November 1 was today.
He takes it easy and writes up of compendium of the potions he has developed. Until a sorcerous threat to his country forces him out of retirement. (Note: sorcerers and wizards are two different types of magic users.)
We had a power outage yesterday, so no sewing machine for me! Today I'm working on a doll wardrobe for 5 1/2" dolls. Susan (such a thrilling life I lead!)
I don't know who will get it. I make toys for a local church pantry (that I don't belong to) and they distribute things that social workers request for their clients. Susan
Thinking of you, Alan! 😊 Hoping it's still not painful, that you are comfy and enjoying time with Miyoko and Naomi. ✨ Holding you all in the Light, as puddle would say. 💛
I saw a guy at the dog park wearing a hoodie that had a "message for the person behind me", saying that the world is a better place with you in it. As I recall, some had posted that image here. It was cool seeing it "in the wild". I told the guy I liked his hoodie.

DeleteAw, bummer to have missed the gathering.
