Too many Americans are losing faith in the role of journalists Brier Dudley Seattle Times Free Press editor Further evidence that we’re living in a bizarro world, where wrong is right and down is up, came in a recent Pew Research Center survey. It found a shockingly large number of Americans don’t strongly believe journalists should hold public figures accountable, by calling out false and misleading information. That's disheartening. At the same time, there's this disgusting both-siding that goes on.
Yesterday on YouTube, I saw a segment from a BBC program interviewing a Holocausts survivor who is very active in the pro Palestine movement there in Britain. Every time he tried to say how wrong Israel's actions are, that they have manufactured a famine, that they are conducting a genocide, one or other of the two presenters spouted some garbage about Israel's right to defend itself, etc. It was disgusting and totally shameless. Many of the commenters called them out on it.

Given what is happening, I can't avoid the conclusion that the time for "both sides" journalism has expired. --nordy
DeleteI have been seeing this exact concern come up repeatedly. Media must stop pretending that both sides have equal integrity!
