No need for a jacket, and not hot enough to make one perspire. Dove cooing while we worked. Oh--Miyoko saw a hawk eating a bird (maybe a blue jay) on our back lawn the other day! That's something new, for sure. This time of year a lot of hawks are down here in the valley, where food is more accessible than up in the mountain snows.

--AlanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15940389.post-33875269084022844312013-02-18T23:43:45.250-05:002013-02-18T23:43:45.250-05:00Here's the web site of the descendants of my g...Here's the web site of the descendants of my great great great grandfather's group of colonists:

Markham Berczy Settlers Association [Click]

Being a relatively small number of families in a very remote place, of course there were many marriages among them--which means I must have swarms of unsuspected (and unsuspecting) relatives, both by marriage and blood, who can be identified borough the association. I'll probably do it, just for that one site, with security settings cranked up.

Alan--Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15940389.post-22519212120523917262013-02-18T22:03:06.681-05:002013-02-18T22:03:06.681-05:00Did you know that the week that Republican Governo...Did you know that the week that Republican Governor Richard Snelling died suddenly, making Democrat Lt. Barbara Snelling, the late Governor's widow, spoke at his service, and at the end of the event every person there stopped on their way out to shake Howard Dean's hand?
