If people write in Bernie's name and Hillary loses to Trump, you can bet your campaign buttons Bernie supporters will be blamed. But they won't have been the reason Hillary lost. The reason Hillary could lose to Trump is because the Dem Party has chosen the status quo and voter suppression and fraud. Hillary will promise anything to get votes. I do not trust that she would follow through. It's way too easy to pretend to do the right thing and point the finger at someone else to explain why it failed.

I simply don't buy the Dem playbook and I owe that party nothing. In fact, I blame the party's corruption for Bernie not already being the favoured nominee.

Bernie sees which way it's going, and I think he's trying to spare us a huge crash. So, folks, as he said, it's up to us now. If we all simply write in Bernie's name, we could elect him even if he's no longer running. The only catch is to make sure we have election oversee-ers so that ballots don't magically disappear.listenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10258189493159993427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15940389.post-39239020596260440222016-06-16T23:01:54.436-04:002016-06-16T23:01:54.436-04:00I've been watching politics for something like...I've been watching politics for something like 70 years now, and have paid attention to 230 years of American political history. Parties do get transformed. William Jennings Bryan may be an even better example than FDR.And does anybody remember Barry Goldwater? But in all our history we've only seen one instance of a party actually falling apart, and the circumstances don't much resemble those of the current Democratic party.W. Bernie had two main themes: 1. defeat Trump; 2. "continue our grassroots efforts to create the America that we know we can become." The quote that ended the Tribune article was: "We have begun the long and arduous process of transforming America, a fight that will continue tomorrow, next week, next year and into the future," he said.

Amen!W. Bernie pretty much said all the things he says in his stump speeches. He's talking about getting the Democratic Party to embrace a lot of the things he's advocated. But, for myself, I don't believe that will ever happen. Everything Bernie proposes makes things better for the people and worse for the oligarchy. No way they're going for that. He said he's going to be talking to Clinton, and I assume he means trying to sway her to some of his positions. But she's all Lucy Holding the Football and she'll say what he wants to hear and she'll do nothing. This is a safe place to vent, Cat.

Off to Sandy Eggo early in the morning.

The Jill Stein/Cheri Honkala bumper sticker of 2012 had a good layout, and an unusual shape and color scheme (yellow and green). Made it easy to find my car. Jill Stein is currently asking for input on a running mate. The Green nominating convention is August 7th, but so far the primaries and suchlike that have been held seem to have gone strongly for Jill Stein. Because of its ballot status and other things the Green Party can't have primaries or caucuses in some states, so they also have state conventions in the mix, and the decision is truly made at the national convention--much the way the major parties used to do it. I thinkStein has improved as a public speaker. Pardon the stream of consciousness. I must hit the sack now.

AlanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15940389.post-77429357037096290562016-06-16T01:05:37.749-04:002016-06-16T01:05:37.749-04:00Bernie is first.
