It is accomplished. I sent 265 photos to Shiloh's spouse tonight and feel so goof to have it completed. Plus, I pulled the photos into our photo frame that displays photos one at a time for about 10 seconds. It means so much to our grief process to keep seeing photos of Shiloh...to keep the reality of the deep good of his life present.
And! Younger*Grandson (9) who lives in Maine (same house as Shiloh's family), has been much on our minds. Age 9 is a really hard age to lose a significant male role model. So what does he do? He blew us away!! Last evening he ran his first 5K and came in second of all people ages 0-14. Then today he played championship soccer for FIVE HOURS, scored 13 goals, and his team won the championship! Gee, sounds like he's gonna come through this, eh?
A colleague of Shiloh's wrote this: "He was flying a mission to deploy cameras and audio recorders near the developing Willow oil and gas project when his helicopter went down. That mission was meant to evaluate how the soundscape changed from before, during and after development."
Actually, they were 15-20 miles from the Willow Project area and others say he was just out scouting for a camp site so they could set up camp the next day. At some point we'll here what was really going on. But it looks to me like they got a little icing on the rotor blades that caused mast pumping and a rotor blade broke off at about 575ft up. It would then take about 6 seconds to crash. The cloud ceiling was about 500ft so why the pilot went up to 575ft makes no sense to me, since moisture at 25ºF = icing. But of course he'd never flown up there in the cold before.
^ So True, Cat!!!
