Black & White Warbler

This bird showed up in our front yard and is a Life Bird for me.
Wishing I could have told Shiloh.   ~ listener

  1. Pearl Harbored

I feel a need to invent a word
So if I say Iran was Pearl Harbored
Is it a "day that will live in infamy"?
B 2 bombers pearl harbored Iran.
Can any student of history misread my words?
General Beauregard pearl harbored Fort Sumter.
(that conflict still has not ended).
    Did we catch our breath,
    before the Endless War resumed?
Men underground tapping on the hull
of the concrete rubble of Fordow
    pearlharbored into war, awaiting rescue.

  4. About an hour ago, I received an email from Alan. Since he mentions ALL of us, I think it's okay to post it here.

"The lung disease that I developed after the flu is not resolving, or if so very, very slowly. Until it improves, I remain hospitalized. Dum spiro, spero. It will probably be the end of me, but when is unknowable. It is not painful. I want you all to know how much I have valued your company over the years.

    -----Alan Barbour"

Please keep him in your heart and prayers and send him loving vibes. ❤️

    1. FYI: "Dum spiro spero" is a Latin phrase meaning "While I breathe, I hope."

    2. I find this sd news. Alan has been a centerpiece of the blog and will be greatly missed when he eventually passes. I find myself wondering which lung disease he has. It sounds like one the biomedical researchers I used to work with may have studied. Not that I am suggesting I or the researchers know anything that might help.

    3. Thanks, W.A.. In my post at 4:54pm click on the words "lung disease" and it takes you to the link Alan included on Interstitial lung disease.

    4. Thanks. I hadn't realized the link was to the specific disease: interstitial lung disease, possibly with pulmoney fibrosis. Yes, those are things my researchers studied, to frustratingly little effect.
