Black Swallowtail!
A male Black Swallowtail Butterfly has hatched!
What amazes me is that he picked the day after the frost warning,
as we are entering a week of warm weather. How did he know?

The topmost (a female) hatched last September.
The middle and lowest overwintered in our garage.

This butterfly spun his chrysalis on August 31st!
There is one more soon to hatch, which spun the Chrysalis on September 4th.
